Just a few minutes from the University of Hawaii campus is The Tea Farm Cafe. This cozy tea spot is a favorite among locals and students alike, a place where tea is approachable yet given its due respect.
Even though The Tea Farm Cafe is a small shop, it boasts a large and eclectic menu. This is a great place to enjoy a light meal of soup and salad or even island eats like Kalua Pork Nachos and Lilikoi Shortbread. And, of course, if you’re wanting to enjoy a traditional tea time, they’ve got that too!
This tea shop is most known for their Ice Cream Fondue, where you can customize which heart-shaped ice creams you’d like to dunk into melted chocolate. And we aren’t talking regular ice cream here, we’re talking Chai, Matcha, and Earl Grey flavors!
There are over 80 varieties of tea to pick from at the Tea Farm Cafe. The shop offers premium and super premium teas to satisfy both humble and sophisticated tea tastes alike. 
If you’re feeling adventurous or indecisive, check out the tea lotto jar nestled amongst the rows of sample tea. I made a home-version of this clever craft, which I named The Tea Time Toss-Up. This little game is a great way to give each tea in your cabinet an equal opportunity to be enjoyed.
In the back corner of the shop you’ll find a small lounge complete with a mini library. It’s a great place to take a break after your reading on the beach plan has officially hit its SPF limit. 
If you’re planning on having afternoon tea here, you’ll definitely want to make reservations. A typical afternoon tea menu consists of small sandwiches, appetizers, scones and the signature ice cream fondue to finish. Their most elaborate spread is called Tea Addicts Unite, for groups of 7 or more. 
If you’re curious to try a certain tea but don’t want to fully commit, check out these loose leaf tea samplers. Each mini jar is perfect for one large teapot brew.
My favorite of the tea gifts and accessories at the shop was this reusable bag with a list of tea names on it. Notice how it mentions Mauna Kea tea? Mauna Kea is one of the very few teas that can call itself Hawaiian—it’s grown on the Big Island atop volcanic soil and processed there too.
Make a trip over to The Tea Farm Cafe when you’ve had enough of that hectic Waikiki bustle. You’ll find a refreshing tea vibe here, one that gently melds old tea traditions with modern and creative ones.
