Fall Tea at The Huntington Library & a “Tea for Two” Giveaway!

The Huntington Library is one of my favorite places to visit in LA, and this is especially true after the Rose Garden Tea Room refreshed their tea menu earlier this year. It was summertime during my last visit, so I returned this week to check out the tea room’s holiday tea menu. The gardens are especially lovely in the fall. As you can see, I came on a cloudy weekday which made the grounds feel especially lush and romantic, very much like a secret garden.
If you’re a longtime fan of The Huntington’s Rose Garden Tea Room, you probably already know that their self-serve tea buffet has been replaced by a more formal 3-tiered service. All of the teas on the menu are now sourced by a local tea company, Art of Tea.Whenever I visit, I usually ask for one of their signature blends, either the Huntington Blend or the Huntington Rose. But on this visit, I ordered the seasonal blend, Cran Mariner, a spicy-tart tisane reminiscent of Grand Mariner. The hubby ordered Pumpkin Spice Chai, a lightly spiced black tea flavored with cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.
There are two other seasonal teas on the menu that you should definitely check out. Butterscotch is a white tea blend that’s supposed to taste just like the confection and Dark Chocolate Peppermint is uniquely made with Pu-erh fermented black tea. I later regretted not ordering the chocolate Pu-erh blend (I was going caffeine-free that day), so if you make your way out to the tea room don’t be foolish like me…try everything!Make sure to enjoy the scones while they are still piping hot and don’t forget to smear them with plenty of luscious pumpkin butter, another seasonal treat! The Caviar Blini and Avocado Mushroom Sandwich were just as delicious as I remember them to be, while the Rose Shortbread Cookie and Chocolate Raspberry Tart were simple, delicious and not too sweet.
A big thanks to The Rose Garden Tea Room, Bon Appétit Management Co. & The Huntington for inviting me out to enjoy tea. Please visit their site to view the full tea room menu and to make reservations“Tea for Two” bundles and any of their signature tea blends can be found though their awesome gift shop–literally, my favorite gift shop in LA!
